Boby - The engine of The Reds' attacking system

Since he’s arrived at Anfield in June 2015, Roberto Firmino did a tremendous job on the attack system for the Reds. Jurgen Klopp made an amazing selection after he came to Anfield by choosing Boby as a corner-stone for the attack of Liverpool. And in just few years he became one of the best Europe’s forwards.

The Brazilian international scored 27 goals for Liverpool on his third season with the Reds (2017/2018) which helped the team to reach the UEFA Champions League final. And a year later, he helped the Reds winning the first Champions League since 2005.

Figueirense

Firmino started his professional career with Figueirense. He was 17 years old when he signed the contract with the football club in 2008.

Firmino scored his first goal with Figueirense on 8 May 2010 in the match against São Caetano. He spent there about two years  before he went to German.

Hoffenheim

In December 2010, Firmino signed with Hoffenheim, a contract until June 2015. He scored his first goal with the German football club on 16 April on the match against Eintracht Frankfurt.

in 2014, Roberto Firmino was named the league’s Breakthrough Player after finishin the Bundesliga 2013/14 as the fourth highest scorer with 16 goals. He has spent four seasons with Hoffenheim, he scored for the German club a total of 38 goals in 79 matches.

In July 2015 and for an initial €29m fee. Roberto Firmino signed a long-term contract with Liverpool. On 21 November, Firmino has scored his first goal with Liverpool in the Premier League against Manchester City (the game ended 4/1 for the Reds).

Roberto Firmino named Boby by Liverpool supporters and was voted to be Liverpool’s Player of the Month in January.

On his first season with Liverpool, he scored his first brace with Liverpool on the game against Arsenal and Norwich City. As a result, Firmino ended the season as Liverpool’s league top scorer with ten goals.

In the season 2017/2018, he formed with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah a wonderful attacking combination and the fans started to call them “Fab Three”.

Later, in April 2018, Firmino scored on the match against Manchester City in the UEFA Chapions League (the match ended 2/1 for The Reds). In addition to that, Roberto Firmino reached with Liverpool to the first UEFA Champions League Final since 2007 in 2018 after beating Manchester City and Roma. However, the Reds went on to lose in the final 3–1 to Real Madrid.

In December 2018, Firmino scored his first Hat-trick with Liverpool in the match ended 5/1 against Arsenal.

After losing the final against Real Madrid, Liverpool came back to the final at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid against Tottenham Hotspur. Early on that match, Firmino gave the team the confidence they needed to control the final. The Reds won 2 – 0 goals scored by: Mo Salah and Origi. This victory, gave Roberto Firmino his first trophy with Liverpool in 2019.

Also in December 2019, Firmino won the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup by winning the final against Flamengo. Boby performance was exceptional during the FIFA Club World Cup Final. He scored the winning goal for the Reds and he was name the man of the final match.

After losing the Premier League 2018/19 to Manchester City by only one point, Liverpool came back to win the Premier League 2020/21. The season was absolutely historic for the Reds after a 30-year wait to achieve the League title. By this winning, Liverpool got the 19th top-flight title which’s their first since 1989/90.

Roberto Firmino appeared in all the matches for the Reds in the Premier League fixtures achieving 38 Premier League appearances on this season scoring 9 goals and making 8 assists. Boby has played a total of 3,001 minutes. He helped the team win very important matches such as Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur, and Wolverhampton Wanderers which were crucial to getting the League.
